Who we are
This website, simantadhikari.com.np (“the site”, “we”, “our”), is the personal professional website of Er. Simant Adhikari, a civil and structural engineer based in Lalitpur, Nepal. It offers information about my work, a technical blog, design sheets, engineering tools and webinars.

Information we collect
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, Google Analytics collects standard usage information, such as:
- the pages you visit, how long you stay, and how you arrived at the site (for example from Google, Facebook or WhatsApp);
- your approximate location (country and city), device type, browser and operating system;
- actions on the site, such as generating a design sheet, downloading a PDF, using the land converter, or clicking “Book your seat”.
This information is collected using cookies and similar technologies and is reported to us in aggregate. It does not tell us your name, and we do not try to identify individual visitors.
Information you choose to share
- Contact form: the form does not send data to our server. It opens your own email app with your message filled in, and you decide whether to send it. If you email us, we receive your name, email address and message.
- Email, phone, WhatsApp and LinkedIn: if you contact us through these, we receive the details you share through that service.
- Webinar booking: “Book your seat” takes you to a WhatsApp group. Joining it shares your WhatsApp name and phone number with the group members and administrator, under WhatsApp’s own privacy policy.
Information that stays on your device
The values you enter in the Design Sheets and Tools (dimensions, loads, project names and so on) are processed entirely in your browser. To save you retyping, the design sheets remember your last inputs in your browser’s local storage. This data is never sent to us or anyone else. You can clear it with “Reset to defaults” or by clearing your browser’s site data.
How we use information
- to understand which pages and tools are useful, and to improve the site;
- to plan webinars, articles and new tools;
- to reply to your messages and enquiries.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. This site uses:
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to measure visits and usage;
- Advertising cookies, if and when the site shows ads through Google AdSense (see below).
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, although analytics and personalised ads may not.
Advertising
The site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. In that case:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Third-party services
The site relies on the following services, each with its own privacy policy:
- Netlify: hosts the site and may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser) for security and performance.
- Google Analytics and Google AdSense: analytics and advertising, as described above.
- Google Fonts and cdnjs (Cloudflare): deliver the site’s fonts and the PDF library used for downloading calculation sheets.
- WordPress.com: hosts some images used in blog articles.
- WhatsApp, LinkedIn and your email provider: when you choose to contact us or join a webinar group.
Data retention
Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Analytics account (up to 14 months) and then deleted automatically. Emails and messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and for our records.
Your choices and rights
- You can browse the site without giving us any personal information.
- You can block cookies, or opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- You can ask us what personal information we hold about you from your messages, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing simantadhikari8@gmail.com.
Children
The site is intended for engineers, students and professionals. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Engineering content disclaimer
The design sheets, tools and articles are provided for education and as an aid to qualified engineers. Results should be checked independently and against the applicable codes before use in any design. They do not replace professional judgement.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when adding new services. The “Effective” date at the top shows when it was last changed.
