Hello, I'm Simant.
I am a civil engineer and structural designer based in Lalitpur, Nepal. My work sits between the design office, the construction site and the classroom. I model and design RCC, steel and pre-engineered buildings, prepare valuation reports, and train engineers on the software and codes used in practice.
I am interested in research and in developing new ways to improve existing structures. I also want to work out design principles that let new structures be built with the least waste of resources.
That is the idea behind Understanding Structure: show engineers why a model behaves the way it does, not only which button to press.
